Camp Fire Columbia is a youth development nonprofit serving Clackamas, Multnomah, and Yamhill counties with a mission to build lasting, equitable and caring relationships with nature, others, and ourselves. Camp Fire Partners with local youth, families and schools to provide culturally-responsive, best practices programming for over 4,000 kids age 5 through 18. To chat more about their camps, we were joined by Gina Sander and Julie Briggs!

SANDY, Ore. — Camp Namanu in Sandy, Oregon, has long been a favorite for kids and families for everything, from summer camps to outdoor school. Now, the camp is trying to find a way to raise a million dollars by next summer, or its future is in jeopardy.
Since 1924, generations have been coming out to Sandy to partake in swimming, camping and boating. Over the last few years, the camp has been struggling.

A storied Oregon summer camp that has offered youth nature programming for 100 years is teetering on a fiscal cliff. Camp Namanu says it will run out of reserve funds by the end of the year unless supporters can come up with $1 million in donations.
